Privacy Policy

The short version
  • Without an account, everything you log stays on your own devices. We never receive it.
  • With Masiya Family, your family’s history is stored with Google Firebase in the United States, so your devices and the caregivers you invite stay in sync.
  • No ads, no analytics, no tracking. We don’t sell your information or share it for advertising.
  • You can export your data and delete your account from inside the app.

Who we are

Mushair LLC, 6019 Winsome Ln, Apt 4, Houston, TX 77057. Email support@mushair.com. We are responsible for the information handled through Masiya Family accounts.

Using Masiya without an account

Masiya’s free tracker needs no account. What you enter is saved only on your device:

  • Your baby’s name, and optionally birth date and birth weight.
  • The logs you record: feeds (nursing, bottles, top-ups), diapers, sleep, tummy time, pumping, weight, and “Other” entries such as medicines or vaccines, with any notes you type.
  • Your settings, such as units, theme and which buttons appear.

We don’t receive any of this. Some features move copies between your own devices or into services you control:

  • Widgets and watches. A short summary (such as the last feed and running timers) is shared with Masiya’s widgets and with your paired Apple Watch or Wear OS watch. Watch logs travel back to your phone through Apple’s or Google’s watch connection services.
  • Automatic daily backup (iPhone and iPad). When it’s on, a backup file is saved to your iCloud Drive in a Masiya folder, or on the device if iCloud Drive isn’t available. iCloud is Apple’s service, under your Apple Account.
  • Your device’s own backups. iCloud Backup or Android’s device backup may include Masiya’s data, under Apple’s or Google’s terms.
  • Exports. Backups, spreadsheets and pediatrician PDFs go only where you choose to save or share them.
  • Reminders. Next-feed reminders are scheduled on your device. Masiya doesn’t use push notifications from a server.

Masiya Family accounts and sync

If you create or join a family, we store the following so it can sync between devices and caregivers:

  • Account. Your email address and whether it’s verified. Family owners also have a password, which is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see it. Caregivers who join with an invitation code have no password.
  • Family history. The baby’s name and birth date, the logs and notes recorded in the family (including medicines, vaccines and weights), who logged each entry and when, and any running timers.
  • Family members. The name each person enters, whether they are the owner or a caregiver, and a color for their entries.
  • Invitations. The invited email address, a scrambled (hashed) form of the code, and when it expires. To stop guessing, we count failed attempts for each email, stored in hashed form. Codes expire after 7 days and are deleted once used.
  • Subscription. Your plan, the store you bought it from, the store’s transaction identifier, the expiry date and whether it was refunded. Apple or Google handle payment; we never receive your card details.
  • Technical records. To keep sync reliable, we keep a short record of each change for 30 days. Our provider Google processes technical information, such as IP addresses and server logs, to run and secure the service.

How we use information

Only to provide Masiya: to sign you in, sync your family’s history, share it with the caregivers you invite, check your subscription, prevent abuse, and answer your support requests. We don’t use your information for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t use it to train AI models.

Who can see it

  • Your family. Everyone in a family (the owner and the caregivers they invite) can see and add to that family’s history. No other family can see it.
  • Service providers. Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions) stores and processes family data for us in the United States. Apple and Google confirm subscriptions. Our service providers may use this information only to provide their services to us, and must protect it at least as well as this policy describes.
  • When the law requires it. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of people or the service.

Health information

Feeding, sleep, diaper, growth and medicine records may count as health information under some laws. We hold them only because you log them, use them only to provide the features you use, and never sell them or use them for advertising. You can delete them at any time; see Delete your account.

Children

Masiya is made for parents and caregivers, not for children to use. Information about your baby is entered by you. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep it

  • Information on your device stays until you delete it or delete the app.
  • A family’s history stays until the family owner deletes their account. That deletes the family’s history for everyone.
  • When a caregiver leaves a family, or signs out after being removed from one, their caregiver account is deleted. The entries they logged stay in the family’s history under their name, because they are part of the family’s record.
  • Records of individual changes are deleted after 30 days.
  • After an account is deleted, we keep only a note that its store purchase was released (the store’s transaction identifier and the date), so the same App Store or Google Play subscription can be moved to a new account.

Security

Information travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored encrypted by Google. Access rules let only members of a family read its history, and only our server can change it. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password private and invite only people you trust.

Your choices and rights

  • See and export: Settings → Your data saves a full backup, a spreadsheet, or a pediatrician PDF.
  • Correct: any entry can be edited in the app.
  • Delete: delete individual entries and keep your account (see Delete specific records), or delete your account (see Delete your account).
  • Stop sharing: leave a family, or delete your account, to stop syncing your information.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how it’s used, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email support@mushair.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.

Where information is stored

Masiya Family data is stored in the United States. If you use Masiya from another country, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States.

The AI import guide

Masiya can show you how to convert another app’s export with an AI assistant of your choice. If you do this, you paste your data into that service yourself, under its own privacy terms. Masiya doesn’t send your data to any AI service.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For significant changes, we will also tell you in the app.

Terms of Use

On iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch: if you downloaded Masiya from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement is your license to use the app. The terms below also apply to the Masiya service, including Masiya Family accounts and subscriptions. If they conflict for the App Store app, Apple’s agreement controls.

On Android and Wear OS, and for the Masiya service everywhere, these terms apply. By using Masiya you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Masiya.

1. Not medical advice

Masiya is a record-keeping tool. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Its estimates, such as the next-feed and next-sleep windows, are worked out from your own recent logs. They are approximate and can be wrong. Always follow your baby’s cues and your pediatrician’s advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

Reminders and notifications may be late or not arrive (for example, because of device settings or battery saving). Don’t rely on Masiya for medicine or care schedules.

2. Who can use Masiya

You must be an adult (18 or the age of majority where you live) to create an account or subscribe. Masiya is for parents and the caregivers they trust.

3. Your information

What you log belongs to you. You allow us to store and process it only to provide Masiya, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for what you enter.

4. Families and accounts

  • Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • The person who creates a family is its owner. The owner invites and removes caregivers. If the owner deletes their account, the family and its history are deleted for everyone.
  • Everyone in a family can see and change its history, so invite only people you trust.
  • Caregivers can leave a family at any time. Leaving deletes the caregiver’s account, as does signing out after being removed from a family; the entries they logged stay in the family’s history.

5. Masiya Family subscription

  • Masiya Family is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription, bought by the family owner through the App Store or Google Play. Invited caregivers join free. The free tracker on your own device stays free.
  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country.
  • Eligible new subscribers get a free trial. Your Apple or Google account is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Deleting the app or your Masiya account does not cancel it.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
  • If a subscription ends, the family keeps its history and read access, but syncing stops until it is renewed.

6. Acceptable use

Don’t use Masiya to break the law, try to reach another family’s information, interfere with the service, guess or misuse invitation codes, or copy, modify or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows.

7. Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features. The cloud service may sometimes be unavailable, so keep your own backups (Settings → Your data). If we ever stop offering Masiya Family, we will give at least 30 days’ notice and a way to export your history.

8. Ending use

You can stop using Masiya at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk.

9. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, Masiya is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Mushair LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for Masiya in the 12 months before the claim, or US$29.99, whichever is greater. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, except where the consumer protection laws of the place you live say otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the effective date above, and tell you in the app for significant changes. Continuing to use Masiya after a change means you accept the new terms.

Delete your account

You can delete your Masiya account and its information in the app, or ask us by email.

Family owner

  1. Open Masiya and go to Settings → Manage account & family.
  2. Under Delete account, enter your password and type DELETE.
  3. Tap Permanently delete my account, then Delete account to confirm.

This deletes your account, your subscription status, and your family’s entire history for every caregiver. It can’t be undone, so save a backup first if you want one (Settings → Your data).

Caregiver

  1. Open Masiya and go to Settings → Family.
  2. Tap Leave and confirm.

Leaving deletes your caregiver account and your email address. The entries you logged stay in the family’s history under your name.

If the owner removed you, or the family was deleted, Settings shows Sign out & delete account instead. It deletes your caregiver account the same way.

Without the app

Email support@mushair.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Delete my Masiya account”. We will confirm by replying to that address and delete the account within 30 days. If you are a family owner, this also deletes your family’s history for everyone.

What stays after deletion

  • Your subscription keeps billing until you cancel it. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
  • We keep only a note that your store purchase was released (the store’s transaction identifier and the date), so the same subscription can be moved to a new account.
  • Copies on your devices and backup files you exported are yours to remove. Delete the Masiya app to remove its data from a device.

No account?

The free tracker has no account to delete; everything is on your device. Delete the app to remove it. On iPhone and iPad, automatic backups are in iCloud Drive (or Files › On My iPhone) › Masiya, where you can delete them.

Delete specific records

You can delete individual entries in Masiya without deleting your account. This works the same with or without Masiya Family.

Delete an entry

  1. Open Masiya and find the entry in Today’s timeline or History. For weight checks, go to Growth.
  2. Tap × beside the entry.
  3. Confirm when Masiya asks “Delete this entry?”.

Deleting can’t be undone. To change an entry instead, tap Edit.

Remove an import

To remove everything a single import added, go to Settings → Your data → Last import and tap Undo import. Entries you logged yourself are not affected.

What is deleted

  • The entry and everything in it: type, amounts, times, side, duration, note, and who logged it.
  • With Masiya Family, the entry is removed from the family’s history on every device and from our servers when your device syncs.

What stays, and for how long

  • Your account and the rest of your history. Only the entries you delete are removed.
  • Sync records. With Masiya Family, a short record of the change is kept for up to 30 days so every device stays in sync, then deleted.
  • Automatic daily backups (iPhone and iPad). Backups made before you deleted the entry still contain it. Masiya keeps the last 7, so it is gone from them after 7 days, or you can delete them in iCloud Drive (or Files › On My iPhone) › Masiya.
  • Files you saved or shared. Backups, spreadsheets and pediatrician PDFs you exported earlier are yours to delete.
  • Device backups. iCloud Backup or Android’s device backup may hold an older copy, under Apple’s or Google’s terms.

To delete everything, including your account, see Delete your account. Questions? Email support@mushair.com.
